Denver's Democratic Conventions, 1908 and 2008
One hundred years ago, Colorado hosted the Democratic Party National Convention at what is now the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver. The candidate, William Jennings Bryan, a gifted and prolific orator, ran and lost on a populist platform against William Howard Taft. Today's cost to lure the convention to Denver was approximately $20 million compared to about $100,000 in 1908. This program explores the differences and similarities between the two conventions held a century apart.
The program features interviews with Denver mayor John Hickenlooper, DNC Convention Committee president Elbra Wedgeworth, Governor Bill Ritter, University of Colorado historians Tom Noel and Rebecca Hunt, and more.

A library is a collection of information, sources, resources, books, and services, and the structure in which it is housed: it is organized for use and maintained by a public body, an institution, or a private individual. In the more traditional sense, a library is a collection of books. Meanwhile,
LegiStorm
is causing something of an uproar on Capitol Hill. It isn't that LegiStorm does something illegal or immoral, it has something to do with the fact that it does something that Congress hates - it keeps them accountable.
