This historical documentary takes a look back to 1896 when the Denver Zoo started with just one bear cub. One hundred years later, the Denver Zoo has evolved into a bio-park dedicated to the preservation of endangered species. This program examines the changing role of the Denver Zoo over a century. It also takes a look back at the administrators, philanthropists and volunteers who made it one of the best in the country and keep the zoo a vital part of the community.
