Austin Green Remodel Project, Part 8/Building a Workbench
In the first half of The "This Old House Hour", master carpenter Norm Abram sees the standing seam metal roof going on our green building project, while host Kevin O'Connor meets builder Bill Moore for an update – rough plumbing and electrical are complete, wallboard is up on the first floor, and spray foam insulation is being sprayed into the rafter bays of the new second floor. In the second half of the Hour, up in the loft, general contractor Tom Silva shows Kevin how to build a simple workbench. Then Tom and Kevin, along with plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey and landscape contractor Roger Cook, ask "What is it?" in the Ask This Old House loft. Afterward, Roger shows Kevin how to tune-up a gas-powered lawnmower. Then, Richard helps quiet a whistling forced-air heating system by installing a bypass duct for a grateful homeowner.
