Globe Trekker
Malaysia: Penang, Malacca & Borneo
Ian Wright uses Malaysia's traditional mode of transportation – a trishaw – to get around the historical city of Malacca. There he enjoys Wesak Day, celebrating the birth, life and enlightenment of Buddha. On Penang, a small island off the mainland, Ian discovers the largest Chinese population outside China and gets a taste of the weird and wonderful delights of an infamous hawker market. Then, it's off to Borneo to meet the Iban tribe, notorious for its former headhunting practices. Ian visits the Sepilock Orangutan Rehabilitation Center, which works to stop Orangutans from becoming extinct. Then he takes off for a two-day trek on Mt. Kinnabalu to witness a breathtaking Borneo sunrise.
