This live-action program follows the exploits of "Wishbone" the dog and his human friends, Joe, David and Samantha through their adventures in their hometown of Oakdale. "Wishbone"'s everyday experiences trigger his imagination and he finds himself in scenes from classic works of literature. In this episode, Dr.Thelma Brown comes back to visit her childhood home and takes the kids on a dig for a long-lost time capsule. Meanwhile, "Wishbone" as the living time capsule, Rip Van Winkle, teaches the value of the past in Washington Irving's tale.
