DNA Project
Congratulations to Nakia Black of Glendale, the winner of Rocky Mountain PBS' African American Lives DNA contest.
Rocky Mountain PBS is helping Nakia trace her past with a genetic test. It's part of a DNA project directed by Henry Louis Gates Jr., executive producer of the groundbreaking "African American Lives" series, in which celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Morgan Freeman use DNA testing to trace their family heritage.
Last month, African American citizens of Colorado entered the drawing for an opportunity to receive a free DNA test. Thank you to all of you who entered, and congratulations, Nakia!
Stay tuned to Rocky Mountain PBS to follow our winner's journey to discovering her family roots using DNA.
