The winners of the StoryMakers Short Story Contest for middle schoolers have been selected! Rocky Mountain PBS received nearly 250 entries of all genres from middle school students throughout Colorado.

The first, second and third places winners in each grade received admission to a two-day workshopCenter for Digital Storytelling through the Center for Digital Storytelling, a non-profit arts organization that assists people of all ages in using the tools of digital media to craft, record, share, and value the stories of individuals and communities, in ways that improve all our lives. Each StoryMakers winner created a short video – combining scripts, images and music – to describe their inspiration as writers. Select a title below to read each winner's full story and see each author's digital story!
