PBS Teachers combines lesson plans and online activities found elsewhere on PBS Online with original activities and professional development opportunities. Our unique "Get Local" feature allows teachers to receive information from their local PBS member station about education resources close to home.

Sign up to join the social networking revolution and share ideas and best practices with teachers across the country. PBS Teachers Connect facilitates collaboration among educators through the use of Web 2.0 technologies, such as blogs and forums, to enable community members to share ideas and best practices, and form online groups with others who have common interests. Educators can search the thousands of local and national standards-based lesson plans and multimedia instructional resources on the PBS Teachers Web site, then easily bookmark, annotate, share, and manage their tagged content within the PBS Teachers Connect community. Teachers have access to public broadcasting's award-winning video content including on-demand streaming video from selected PBS programs, Shop PBS for Teachers, and PBS TeacherLine online courses.
Offering just-in-time professional development, the PBS Teachers Connect community fosters the discussion of effective ways to integrate digital media content and technology into the curriculum to help educators promote 21st century skills development and improve student achievement. Educators can apply to become PBS Teacher Leaders. These education innovators will be integral to community development, soliciting teacher-created content, and showcasing exemplary demonstrations of digital media use.
