Denver -- The Denver Public Library today announced the upcoming exhibition of photographs, papers, memorabilia and artifacts documenting the extraordinary life of Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzales.
Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzales is remembered for his leadership in the Chicano Movement, honored for his epic poem Yo Soy Joaquin (I am Joaquin), attributed as the creator of today's Hispanic cultural identity, and the strong voice against inequality. An exhibit honoring and remembering Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzales (1928-2005) will be on display at Denver Central Library June 2 – September 20, 2009, in the Western History Gallery located on Level 5. The exhibition includes 50 enlarged photographs along with 120 items documenting Gonzales' life along with mementos, awards and papers documenting his boxing career, activism, writings and family.
