The Creede Historic Museum features a hand-drawn fire wagon, horse-drawn hearse, pioneer utensils, gambling devices, old photos, newspapers and other historical documents.

The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad was built over 120 years ago and still operates during the warmer months of the year.

Discover the fort commanded by Kit Carson, who with 100 men, protected the earliest settlers in the San Luis Valley. The museum also features the folk art from the Hispanic community in southern Colorado.

The Jack Dempsey museum honors the boxing champion, born in Manassa, who won the heavyweight boxing championship in 1919. The museum is housed in the cabin where Jack Dempsey was born and includes artifacts and photos of his life achievements.

The Rio Grande County Museum exhibits portray the diverse cultural and natural history of the area from the Native Americans and Hispanic settlers, to the fur trappers and traders, to the settlers who were seeking gold and silver.

The San Luis Museum features murals, artwork, and the Carlos Beaubien Theatre—a setting for movies and live performances. The theatre’s décor has been left intact and include original vigas and a fireplace.
