Aiken Canyon Preserve

Approximately 16 miles south of Colorado Springs

The Aiken Canyon has preserved the southern Front Range foothills ecosystem—evident in the many plants including shrublands, tall grass, prairie meadows, pinyon juniper woodlands and mixed coniferous woodlands. Hundreds of species of birds have been sighted as well as black bear, gray fox, mountain lion, mule deer, Rocky Mountain elk, spruce squirrels and tuft-eared squirrels.
