Allan Singer

Allan Singer worked at Charter Communications, Inc. as Senior Vice President, Programming from 2011 to 2017. In this role, Mr. Singer led Charter’s content acquisition team and is responsible for acquiring, developing and managing linear and non-linear content for the company.

Prior to Charter, Mr. Singer was Executive Vice President of Distribution and Strategy at Oprah Winfrey Network. Mr. Singer’s developed OWN’s initial sales presentations and strategy, lead its affiliate sales efforts and successfully transitioned the former Discovery Health network to OWN.

Before OWN, Mr. Singer served in a series of executive positions at Comcast, including Senior Vice President of Content Acquisition; Senior Vice President of Sports Business Development in which he acquired sports rights and created regional sports networks for the company; and Senior Vice President of Programming Investments in which he assisted in the management and growth of Comcast’s portfolio of cable networks, regional sports networks and programming assets.

Prior to Comcast, Mr. Singer was Senior Vice President of Programming for AT&T Broadband and President of its programming acquisition subsidiary, Satellite Services, Inc. In these positions, Mr. Singer led the programming department of the then largest MSO. His responsibilities included the negotiation of distribution agreements with networks and event providers, as well as the development of programming initiatives and strategy for the company. Mr. Singer also held the position of Vice President of Programming at Tele-Communications, Inc. prior to its merger with AT&T.

Before joining TCI in 1996, Mr. Singer worked as a partner in the Denver, Colorado law firm of White and Steele, P.C. Mr. Singer served as the law clerk for Chief Judge David Enoch of the Colorado Court of Appeals following his graduation from law school in 1984.

Mr. Singer earned a bachelor’s of arts degree from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA where he graduated magna cum laude, was awarded Phi Beta Kappa and lettered in lacrosse. He earned a juris doctorate degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
