The Royal Gorge Route

Board the train in Cañon City at the historic Santa Fe Depot and enjoy a two-hour journey through the Royal Gorge of Colorado. The Royal Gorge Route follows the most famous portion of the old Denver & Rio Grande Western train line, 24 miles round-trip, from Cañon City to Parkdale and return. In 1999 and 2000, the Royal Gorge rails carried as many as 75,000 passengers, each year.
